HI, MY NAME IS THAMULUS!
Name: Thamulus
Gender: Male
Breed: Canaan dog
Age: 4 dog years; about 33 human years
Pack: Currently a loner.
Rank: None.
Appearance:
Thamulus is mainly white with a black blotch over his ears which covers his eyes and goes around the back of his head. Another
blotch is also located on his hindquarters, moving up to the base of the tip of his tail. His eyes are a golden, burnt orange color
and his nose is a common charcoal or black. As for physique, he is rather slender at first glance, but he does have strong, tight
muscles under his short, velvet-like coat. His tail curls over, almost in a perfect circle.
Personality:
Thamulus is considered rather sneaky. He's a prankster at times, and he enjoys giving others a run for their money, but only if it's
fair to the other individual in question. He tries to be as harmless as possible, but his mischievous spirit usually gets the better
of him and he'll often coax someone into chasing him, which often results in them losing to his speed and wit. However, when he wants to be, he can be polite and charming, much like a well mannered gentleman. This trait of his seems to dazzle certain females, but he does not take advantage of it - it's simply the way he is. Thamulus doesn't like being flirty, nor does he like those who hit on him. He would rather wait until the "right one" comes along to sweep him off his paws.
When it comes to violence, he wants nothing to do with it. Thamulus would prefer to talk things out rather than going toe-to-toe, or fang-to-fang. It's against his nature to enter conflict, which is why he doesn't get himself too mixed up with others of volatile nature.
If there is one thing that Thamulus loves most in life, it's water. It is his delight to wade or swim simply in a pool or lake, practically any body of water. He would spend hours relaxing in lukewarm water, splashing around as if he were a youngster again. Being in water really takes his mind off his worries, if he has any at the moment
History:
Thamulus was born into a litter of five, three sisters and two brothers including himself. Before he was born, humans were still masters of the land, and his parents belonged to a pair of male humans. They were most unkindly towards dogs; they did not care for them in any way. Plus, they even made the dogs work as if they were personal slaves, carrying heavy loads and sometimes getting into quarrels with other dogs. During a nasty drought, Thamulus' mother became pregnant. It wasn't long until Thamulus and his siblings were born, which meant that more mouths needed feeding. It was a bittersweet situation, because the newborns would, with certainty, undergo the rough treatment that the men had in store for them. The pain that Thamulus' family endured was mind-numbing. Three of his siblings had died prematurely due to lack of water, food, and, not to mention, unfair labor. Only his mother, father, and sister remained. It was a wonder how the four of them survived. But the pups' sole guardians would also fall slain by the merciless hand of mankind.
On a night of intolerable heat, the adult dogs planned an escape, but it would only salvage their offspring. The men were drunk and had become rowdy that night; when they accidentally witnessed the mother and father ushering their young from what had been their "home", the men became enraged and blindly attacked the parents. They were chained to a fence, and had little chance of fighting back. Weak, and badly battered, they slipped out of life within minutes. As luck would have it, the men were disoriented and confused, and could not go onward to find the puppies.
From then on, Thamulus and his slightly younger sister, Thariul, lived off the land. They traveled countless miles, and as they grew, they became more knowledgeable. They knew how to take care of themselves, which meant that they stayed very far away from humans and their territory. At a certain point in their mature lives, Thariul decided that she had to walk on her own path of life, so she departed from Thamulus' side. They have not seen each other since, and from time to time, Thamulus wonders what has become of her. Did she suffer the same fate as her parents did? Or was she well off, perhaps tending to her own family?
The thought of his sister - the fact that she depended on him when they were younger and the fact that she was possibly all on her own - distresses him. But he doesn't dwell on the thought for long, as he knows he has to live for himself.
